Cynthia and I just returned from a trip to the Vista resort on Playa de Oro Manzanillo Mexico on a vast expanse of beach . Manzanillo is situated on Mexico's Pacific coast about halfway between Puerta Vallarta to its north and Acapulco to the south. We had a marvelous time, relaxing in the shade of an umbrella on the beach, or under a palm tree at the pool. The resort was one frequented by many Mexican families who come to the coast from Guadalajara inland for weekend getaways with the kids. The pool area rang from early morning to late evening with the sounds of the families have a great time. Of course there was always music. Everywhere one goes in Mexico there is music. The food was great, the accommodation basic but more than adequate, and of course, the weather was glorious. Temperatures were around 28-30 C each day we were there. We had no rain and only on two days did the mornings begin with low cloud which rapidly burned off by noon. We rode the local buses into Manzanillo and back on one occasion, but mostly we spent our time relaxing , which was our prime reason for being in Mexico.
